American-Statesman: What kind of concerns did you have over Will Muschamp and Duane Akina leaving?My thoughts:
Turner: Whenever coach Muschamp left, I didn't really have any concerns because coach Akina was still there. But when coach Akina left, yeah, I had a lot of concerns. I talked to coach (Mack) Brown and he said they were bringing in another great coach, so it was all right. Coach (Jerry) Gray is great. He knows what he's talking about. His résumé is unbelievable.
Holding on to Turner was huge for this class. As I've said before, the orchestrating of Coach Akina leaving and the hiring of his replacement Jerry Gray was handled perfectly. With all the loses at DB Turner will get a chance to contribute early.
