ESPN, University of Texas 'very close' to forming Longhorns TV channel

"Burke Magnus, senior vice president for college sports programming, told the American-Statesman that once the deal is finalized, ESPN would show perhaps one or two Longhorn football games and up to "eight or 10" men's basketball games per season, even more than first acknowledged . "

My thoughts:

I guess the 5-7 2010 season has done little to diminish the luster of Longhorn athletics. DeLoss once again leads the country with innovative ways to maximize revenue for the university. Notre Dame might have their NBC deal, but this is an entire network committed to Longhorn sports. I believe that is a first, and with a potential to earn up to $10 million a year. Amazing...
